Regional or local government needs to establish a policyfor the recognition and revitalization of adat institutions.Empowerment of adat communities also needs the supportof a just and fair economic and political system. Law reformneeds to be taken in order to correct past and existing legislationthat ignore the rights of adat communities and, in turn, toproduce new legislation supporting the recognition, protection,and promotion of the rights of adat communities. The practiceof good and clean government needs to be promoted. Likewise,it is necessary to think of and find out means for rational andmanageable funding for the empowerment programs of adatcommunities. Those described above are discourses which now developingin Indonesia in the framework of efforts to reduce poverty. Werealize that we can not carry out those %u2018actions%u2019 solely byourselves. Support of the international community is still neededas long as in line with our policies and agendas. We hope thatthis Regional Workshop will give inputs and support valuablefor us in the process of empowerment of our communities andof all components of the nation state towards Indonesian statewhich is integrated, prosperous, peaceful, and democratic.Thank you.[]
