Of those, 11,941were in Indonesia, including over 1,700 in Aceh. Similarly, lessons from Aceh could be explored for unresolvedtension in Mindanao, the Philippines, and in Pattani in southernThailand. But therein lies the main lesson %u2014 that only inIndonesia%u2019s new democratic era was Aceh%u2019s peace possible.[]
