56Islam, Democracy and Human Rights in Contemporary Indonesiadevelopment. At least for the Indonesian Muslim, Japan is still deemed astheir friend. Because of that, the Moslem in Indonesia tend toforget the Japanese military behavior during the war. They evenbelieve that Japan had rendered by giving military training tothe Moslem youths, with support the independent war againstthe Dutch. Even the Indonesian Muslim society see that theindependent of Indonesia in 1945 could not be successfulwithout the help of Japanese by establishing The IndonesianIndependent Preparation Committee, lead by Sukarno andMohammad Hatta.I would like to terminate this rather long speech by invitingus all, the Asian leaders, to face the future of the nations in thiscontinent. I have the opinion that although nations in Asia arevarious but they are still aware that they live in one continent. Iam in the opinion that although globalization exist, the culturalidentity of an nation cannot be vanished by globalization. Weneed to enhance cooperation in solving problems we are facing, because we interdependent one to another. The crisis in Iraq, Afghanistan and South Asia in general have caused a big effectsto Asia: The emerging illegal migrants and the increase oftransnational organized crimes. The long period of conflicts ina state and border, cause smuggling of arms, trafficking ofnarcotic and terrorist dangers. We all, leaders of Asian nationhave the responsibility in establishing stability and security inAsia, which to my opinion, the key lies on the success of theeconomic and social development in this continent. By creatinga condition full of understanding and the willingness to open adialogue in solving every problems, and to throw away the useof military power in forcing a state to accept another state%u2019s
